New Construction Roofing Installed Right the First Time

Whether you’re building a single custom home or a whole subdivision, the roof is the part nobody sees until it leaks. Yellowstone Roofing works from your plans, coordinates with your build schedule, and installs a manufacturer-certified system with our own employee crews so the roof is right before the drywall goes up.

What New Construction Roofing Covers

A Roofing Partner Builders Can Actually Schedule Around

New-construction roofing is a different animal than a reroof. There’s no tear-off — there’s a schedule to hit, a framing crew to coordinate with, and an inspector who wants it done to code. We install fresh underlayment, ice-and-water shield in the valleys and eaves, new flashing at every wall and penetration, ridge venting sized to the attic, and manufacturer-certified shingle, metal, or standing-seam systems — all to spec, all documented.

General contractors and homeowners building from the ground up call us because our crews are our employees, trained our way, and the owner walks the job. We roof single custom homes, spec builds, and multi-unit projects across Yellowstone County and south-central Montana. Straight courses, sealed flashing, and a clean job site handed back to the next trade on time.

Why Builders & Owners Pick Us for New Construction

Certified Systems, Employee Crews, On-Schedule Delivery

On a new build, the roof isn’t the place to save money with the cheapest sub. Two things separate a roof that lasts the life of the home from one you’ll fight over: the manufacturer credential behind the crew, and whether that crew keeps your schedule.

01 — Certified Installer

GAF Master Elite Certified

GAF Master Elite is a manufacturer credential held by fewer than 2% of roofing contractors in North America. It’s what unlocks the GAF Golden Pledge warranty — the strongest coverage GAF offers, with lifetime material coverage and 25-year workmanship backing that transfers to the next owner if the home is sold. On a brand-new house, that transferable warranty is a real selling point.

We’re also IKO Certified and a Malarkey Certified Premium contractor, so we can match the shingle line and warranty to your build spec. See all our roofing services.

02 — On Your Schedule

Our Own Employee Crews

New-construction roofing schedules slip when a crew is juggling too many jobs at once. Every crew on your build is a Yellowstone Roofing employee, and the owner walks the job. When we give a general contractor a dry-in date, we hit it — because the framing crew, the drywall crew, and the inspector are all waiting on us.

In-House Employee Crews
One Crew, One Schedule, One Point of Contact

Owner-walked jobs, trained-in-house crews, and a real dry-in date you can build the rest of your schedule around.

How It Works

Your New-Build Roof, Start to Finish

From reviewing your plans to handing off a warrantied, dried-in roof, here’s exactly what to expect.

1. You Call or Click

Send us the plans, the build address, and your target dry-in window. Custom home, spec build, or multi-unit — we roof all three.

2. Plan Review & Quote

We review the roof plan, confirm material and ventilation specs, and get you an itemized written estimate with a firm install window.

3. Schedule Coordination

We lock in a dry-in date that works with your framing and interior trades — not "sometime after framing," a real date.

4. Install

Underlayment, ice-and-water shield, flashing, ridge venting, and certified shingle, metal, or standing-seam systems — installed to spec by our crews.

5. Inspection Ready

We install to code and hand off a roof that passes inspection. Magnet rake of the site so the next trade isn’t stepping on nails.

6. Written Warranty

Manufacturer warranty and our workmanship warranty registered and emailed at job close — transferable to the eventual homebuyer.

Why Our New-Build Roof Beats the Cheapest Sub

What Bargain Roofing Subs Usually Leave Out

On a new build there’s always a cheaper roofing sub. Sometimes it’s a legitimate competitor. More often it’s a thinner spec, a builder-grade warranty, or a crew that’s stretched across five jobs and blows your dry-in date. Here’s what we include that the lowball bid usually doesn’t.

  • GAF Master Elite install — a credential fewer than 2% of roofers nationwide hold, verifiable
  • Golden Pledge warranty, transferable to the homebuyer — a real selling point on a spec build
  • Our own employee crews so the dry-in date holds
  • Installed to code and to spec, inspection-ready, with a magnet-swept site for the next trade
  • Shingle, metal, or standing-seam — matched to your build spec and budget, no surprise upsells

Common New-Construction Questions

What Builders & Owners Ask Most

Yes. A large share of our new-construction work is for GCs and builders across Yellowstone County. We review your plans, quote off the roof drawings, coordinate a dry-in date around your framing and interior schedule, and hand off an inspection-ready roof. One point of contact, one crew, one schedule.

Architectural asphalt shingle (GAF, IKO, Malarkey), metal and standing-seam, and low-slope commercial systems like TPO and EPDM for flat sections. We match the system to your build spec, budget, and the look you’re after — and everything is a manufacturer-certified install so the warranty is real.

That’s the whole reason to use employee crews instead of subs. When we commit to a dry-in date, that’s our crew’s date — not a slot they’re trying to squeeze between three other jobs. We know your framing crew, drywall crew, and inspector are all waiting on the roof, so we keep the schedule.

Yes. Because we’re GAF Master Elite, we can register the Golden Pledge warranty on qualifying installs — lifetime material coverage and 25-year workmanship coverage, both transferable if the home is sold (terms apply). On a spec build, a warrantied and transferable roof is a genuine selling feature.

We do — multi-family, apartment complexes, pole buildings, and commercial new construction across south-central Montana. Flat and low-slope systems like TPO and EPDM are part of our wheelhouse alongside residential shingle and metal. Send us the scope and we’ll quote it.
